Spyderco is known for their ceramic stones and this stone has the same stones as the SharpMaker just in a pocket stone shape. A few things if you think about it. It has a medium to fine grit, which is generally much finer than similar stones from other manufacturers, so it's more of a touch-up and general sharpening stone than for reprofiling or repairing an edge. Get Double Stuff 2 (CBN/Fine Combo) or Fallkniven DC4 (Diamond/Ceramic Combo) if you want something more aggressive. As mentioned, these are just medium to small Spyderco pocket stones glued together (and apparently not the best glue job, although the one I got seems to be a good one). So if you want two separate stones you can do it's a bit more money. I was only going to wear one thing and thought the stone would be thicker, although two stones glued together might give it a bit more breaking strength. Finally, the scabbard comes standard in brown suede. It would be a little better if the seams on the side went 1/2 inch up. But you can load it up with putty and do the final finishing step if you like.
