Now I know for my opinion

Didn’t quite understand what all the hype was about in having a wool ironing mat. Now I know. I no longer use the ironing board to iron my quilt pieces.

Pros

Provides a perfectly flat and stable surface for ironing and quilting

Cons

May not work for all types of fabric
