Not polished to a shine. Wax stones

These stones were bought for my aquarium. I tried cleaning them before putting them in the tank. When using warm water, I felt the stones felt residuey. I switched to hot water and the wax melted. It was very rough, like an oil slick on the coast. It took a lot of soaking to get the wax off. The stones are now showing their true color: dull gray. The stones looked great black and shiny but I don't want my fish exposed to whatever is coating the stones so the cleaner the better. As for the veracity of the listing, I'm not happy that I don't have actual polished black stones for my aquarium.

Pros
