Review on ๐ŸŽต Audio Technica ATN3600L Replacement Needle for AT LP60 Turntable by Daniel Jackson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Amazing sound for audiophiles on a budget

I have an old AT-95E cartilage from a used turntable I received and the needle was bad. I bought a Grado Black at the time to replace the gristle, but I never throw away the old AT95E and replaced the gristle with a fake (3rd party and cheap) but good enough needle replacement. I also have another player that I have paired with the Ortofon OM. After I upgraded the OM stylus to the OM 20, which was a costly endeavor, the OM really worked as it should, with excellent sound quality and detail. I compared it to an AT95E with cheap third party cartilage and indeed the sound quality shows a big gap. But then I started thinking that I should try the AT95E and compare it to the OEM replacement pen. So I cough up a few bucks more and buy this replacement pen. I've matched it for comparison, the OM still sounds better with more detail, but the AT95E hasn't lagged either. I can clearly see why the AT-95E has been the main mount for many turntables. The fact of the matter is that a $35 stylus is commendable compared to a $200 stylus. It easily rivals the OM10 in my opinion, maybe not as detailed as the OM 20 or the Shure M97xe, but the sound quality isn't far behind. For the money - a great option!
