Superb Razor

This is a Superb Razor. I have been using a Dovo Bismarck straight razor since 2008 and I enjoy using it regularly. And I wanted to expand my collection to give Bismarck a break. After getting the Zertone I sharpened the blade in 6 passes on a wet 8000 grit stone and finished it in 12 passes on a wet 12000 grit stone. 50 strokes on the skin and I had the close shave I have had since long had. If you're interested in this blade, get it - you won't be disappointed. probably every 60 to 90 days, maybe up to 6 months. I would go with at least a 10 or 12 karat wet stone (maybe you can live with 8 karat). And watch a YouTube video about sharpening. Maybe I should have tried the unsharpened razor first after considering this review - to be honest - I think my experience with it would be fine - and it's not just a regular razor. It's excellent. UPDATE: 05/24/2019 - cheaper version of this blade: Forgot the price. The price for a straight blade is ridiculously low for what you get, which I think beats my $200 Dox. The blade is really ready to shave. But I kept sharpening with a wet stone 8k and 12k. Both blades have been used on its $29 brother for over a month. Both are excellent blades. The better the fin on the blade, the less you cut yourself. The fin will deteriorate with use. You can't own a straightedge without being able to sharpen the straightedge - no matter how good the blade. You will receive an expense blade. They are essential to maintaining your edge - or you need to find someone to sharpen your edge every 3-4 months. Also use mineral oil. After the blade has dried, apply a thin coat of oil to the blade.
