Screwed up my GTI - decorative strip
It just happened with my new red GTI. perfectly clean waxed hood. I left about an inch above my knees when I put the second piece on. left for 1.5 weeks. When I went to take it off, to my dismay, when the tape overlaps, the paint has a white line embedded in or under the clear coat! My hood now has a faint white streak on the paint that will not buff or peel. The auto repair shop confirmed it was permanent. The glue somehow reacted with the color where the tape overlapped. Possibly because I double clicked on that area when overlapping the ribbon. The bonnet is fundamentally damaged. I would take all the rock chips in the world against what that tape did to my car. All the good Revain reviews in the world for this product can't fix my hood.
