Review on πŸ“ Inateck Dual Bay SATA Hard Drive Docking Station: USB 3.0 SSD Dock for Efficient Data Transfer - FD2005 by Jim Cronin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very important. Exactly as described. Easy to use, plug and play!

I managed to use regular internal hard drives as removable external hard drives. I installed two 3.5" drives and transferred 4TB of information between them. Works like clockwork! I was able to easily format my drive for my Mac with this installation case. It was ready to go out of the box! The on/off switch on the back is a big plus. Great for power surges and more (although not as good as a surge protector! But that has nothing to do with the usefulness of this model) Not mentioned in the manual but some of my hard drives won't park their heads when a USB is plugged into my computer. Be sure to unplug the drive first, then the USB connector. The drives are then parked and then powered off. Your hard disk heads will thank you and remain healthy and efficient for many years! The only thing I haven't tried yet is disk cloning. I (based on previous experience with 3rd party software and hardware) don't trust disk cloning. I prefer to drag and drop files in small chunks. However, this model includes a way to clone a hard drive offline (no screen or keyboard, just one device and hard drives). So if your computer crashes and you need to remove content from it, this should work perfectly. The performance of everything else I tested gives me confidence that the advertised quality and usefulness of this device is true.

Cons
