Range finders have poor accuracy

Ok, I like the low weight and the reload function, great! I'm concerned about the accuracy. On several occasions when used by several playmates against more expensive models, this one has consistently been reported to be 3-4 yards shorter. Both their devices and my GPS golf watch will read the same, say 177 yards. Here it will be 173, and then with an incline maybe 170. That's a big difference. As the distance got shorter, it seemed to get closer. Let's say 120 yards on them and 119 on this device. Enough difference in general that my confidence in it isn't very good. Now, not only do I use it, but I take out my golf GPS watch and find myself using my watch more and more. Your results may vary, but so far the accuracy is keeping me from docking this device. I mean, if you don't trust footage, this thing just becomes some sort of fun toy that takes up space in your pocket. Update a few months later. Searchers are 3 to 4 meters away from other readings. I don't know if I have a bad block or if it's normal. It's late for me to come back so overall quite disappointing.

Pros
  • The reflectivity of the measured object varies: high reflectivity (e.g. street signs), moderate reflectivity (e.g. a building wall), objects with low reflectivity (e.g. trees, golf flag poles, etc.) . )
Cons
  • Clarity
