I know it's not very smart of me, but after 20 years of smoking (fortunately no more) and living in a city with terrible air pollution, I've become quite fatalistic about the state of the air around my lungs who inhale it. Something along the lines of "I screwed it up anyway, so I'm not worried." At least that's how I felt until I turned the thing on in my home office this afternoon. The air quality outside is pretty dismal (where I live a lot of people burn coal for heating, and since it's -23C they burn a lot of coal) but I always thought it was getting worse until the air reached me. it would be filtered out. I was then a little alarmed to see the air quality indicator turn yellow for "moderate" and the PM10 and PM2.5 readings on the app were in the mid to 20's. It's not that bad compared to the air outside, but it's not nearly as good. I now have PuriCare running and am aware of the poor quality air I breathe. I expect it will become a permanent fixture on my desk. Looks like he's there too. It's a good-looking piece of kit, not too dissimilar to a well-designed Bluetooth speaker, and because it's thin and tall, its footprint doesn't take up much desk space - a little less room than a coffee mug. I'm satisfied enough with this item to give it a solid 5 star rating, although it would be remiss if I didn't just mention one or two very minor issues to complete the review. First, when the fan is set to Auto, changing the speed can be a little distracting. Fan noise isn't loud by any means β not much louder than a desktop PC fan β but if you set it low, you can easily adjust it. In automatic mode, it sometimes increases to the maximum, then you notice the noise. The turbo is obviously a bit louder, but that's to be expected, right? My other minor gripe is that there is nothing in the literature that can tell me if this can be used when connected to a network. next to my USB hub so it won't be hard to always keep it connected to the network. It would actually be easier than remembering to recharge it, but I doubt it because I'm not sure if plugging it in will affect battery life in the long run. I'd like some clarification from LG on this, but for now I think I'll take the risk and just plug it in if needed. By all means, ignore these petty claims. This item is great and worth the investment.
