So we bought an aquarium a few months ago and needed supplemental oxygen. The waterfall that came with the tank didn't move the water much. I decided to use a pump and an air stone! I was so excited! I went to the local pet store and spoke to a member of staff who helped me select the items I needed. I came home and set it up. It was pretty loud. And then there was a tornado in my aquarium. It literally looked like a scene from The Wizard of Oz. I am writing to my friend who helped me answer my questions about aquarium care. I look at my box! The air pump was 10-30 gallons 😳 UGH. I ended up keeping the pump for my travel days because it's perfect for that purpose when using a larger reservoir for my team. Okay, then a few months after the tornado 🌪 in my tank experience I decided, okay, I'll try another air pump. But now I know to be careful not to get one for big tanks. I'm at another pet store and find an air pump that is 5 gallons or less. CHECK OVER! It was the last one on the shelf and I felt like a winner. I bring it home, set it up, so excited, my face is glued to the tank and over my shoulder I can hear the vibration as the pump DANCES across the water. Table. Also, it's noisy. I put up with this for a week with the pump in a box of tissues to deaden the noise and stop the pump dancing until a friend of mine recommended I order this amazing USB air pump with all the accessories. Jebus for example. I should have gotten that thing from the start! We had water tornadoes and dancing air pumps just trying to figure out the right air stone pump setup. I seriously think I should order more simply because I developed ASPA (air stone pump anxiety). Actually this is not so, but it should be so. Pros - Doesn't cause a tornado in the tank. The pump does not dance on the table. It can be used during a power outage by connecting the USB end to the battery. on moving day by plugging it into a splitter in the cigarette lighter socket. Quiet enough that you can sit and HEAR the bubbles ☺️ The bubbles are nicer than the air stone I used before. Compact and easy to "hide" the pump by mounting it on the side of the tank. Cons - Literally none after what I went through to find a tuned air pump!
