Review on BASEQI Aluminum MicroSD Adapter MacBook Computer Accessories & Peripherals by Heather Jordan

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It's like a marriage that's hard to break up without harm.

That's all for storage on micro SD cards, so you think it will be good, right? Unfortunately, once you've inserted your card, you're better off treating it as permanent storage, as removing both the SD card from the adapter and the adapter from the laptop is very difficult, with the former being the most difficult. You can see in my photos how I ripped the paint on my SD card when I tried to remove it the first time, so the next time I removed it I applied a thin layer of dielectric grease (I don't have any grease on the adapter plotted into the computer). It's not the product's fault at all, but I also forgot how slow SD card write speeds are in general. I use this as a cheap media storage solution for video projects, but for anything that requires fast burning like running a program or video cache, don't worry. While it looks and works great, I feel like the cheap plastic adapters that come with every micro SD card figured out how to get the card in tight but not getting stuck. So why is this product so tight? Definitely room for improvement.
