I bought these pens because they were advertised as waterproof. I'm constantly looking for inks that don't smear, smudge, or bleed into the color I wear over them. After purchasing these pens I just have to keep looking. I've only tried them on two types of paper. Both smudged when the color was applied to the ink. I like the deep blackness of the ink. This is what ink should look like after all. Feathers apply a clean line without feathering. I also like that I can draw at an angle instead of holding the pen vertically like other brands have to. The handles are also comfortable to hold. There is a little drag, but that's not a problem for me. However, the ink does not dry immediately, so be careful. All in all these are good pens for working with B+W lines. I just received them so I can't write about how long the ink lasts.
