About the product itself: the glass bottles are sturdy and ergonomic in the hand. As other reviews have mentioned, threading the nipple top can be finicky; I found that I often had to re-twist the top after warming a cold bottle from the fridge. The manufacturer website says not to "over-tighten”, but even following this instruction I found that leakage was still a bit unpredictable and always turned the bottle upside down a few times to check before feeding. The new nipple style Flow 2 is quite slow but seems to help prevent excess air. My newborn was initially only able to drink about 20mls in 10 minutes, but within two weeks his sucking strength had increased and he was able to double this speed. On the plus side, he rarely needed burping and almost never spit up.However, the customer service from Philips Avent has been very disappointing. I found after initially washing the bottles in my 4-pack that one of them was defective, having no graduation markings whatsoever, and that one of the nipples wasn’t working well. I contacted the Avent support line for the product and they said that they took this type of manufacturing failure "very seriously”, yet weren’t able to send me a single replacement bottle due to stocking issues. I was instead offered their cheaper plastic bottle or a discount code to their online shop, which does not sell single bottles (so I would have had to buy another 4-pack and shell out more than $20 additional of my own money). When I asked for a partial refund instead, they told me that they could not do so without escalating the claim but that I would receive a complete response within 3-5 business days. TWO AND A HALF WEEKS LATER- no resolution. I wish I would have saved myself the stress of all the time waiting on hold and trying to feed a newborn for several weeks with only three functional bottles.
