My wife and I bought a 260 base layer set from Meriwool for our ski trip in Canada. It was early January and the temps ranged from -15 to about 20 degrees Fahrenheit. These worked really well while up on the mountain skiing/snowboarding. Since they were Merino Wool, we were able to get a few days out of them as well. For reference, we wore this as our base, then added an integrated light/mid puffer jacket and ski outer shell. For pants, we just used the base layer under the ski pants. This combo was perfect for the activity with temps between (-15 to about 20 F). I also picked up a pair of 250g/m Icebreaker pants as a second pair for the week. Overall, the Icebreaker was a bit more comfortable because it had a more snug fit and softer feel. I also found that it did not stretch out after wearing it as much as these pants did. That said however, the warmth and overall comfort when we were out and about was unnoticeable. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a more budget friendly option.Lastly, for non-ski days and nights, I would recommend the heavier weight for the pants because those low temps + wind still felt cold and you cant really layer pants. The 260 top is fine since you can.
