Great value! good for me

My wife and I bought a 260 base layer set from Meriwool for our ski trip in Canada. It was early January and the temps ranged from -15 to about 20 degrees Fahrenheit. These worked really well while up on the mountain skiing/snowboarding. Since they were Merino Wool, we were able to get a few days out of them as well. For reference, we wore this as our base, then added an integrated light/mid puffer jacket and ski outer shell. For pants, we just used the base layer under the ski pants. This…

Pros
  • medium fit perfectly
Cons
  • Limited color options

Excellent wool baselayers

My wife and I have the 250G zip tops, 250G bottoms and I have a 400G zip top. I've used wool base layers for 50 years and Meriwool is as good as any I've seen over the years.and I've owned all the expensive brands. Polyester has its place in the world of insulation but merino wool is the tried and true king of the hill. The same goes for a well made wool sweater but that's another topic.

Pros
  • Very soft. Very warm and comfortable. Size is good.
Cons
  • May cause itching or discomfort for some wearers

Overrated and overpriced.

I believe these to be overrated and overpriced. First off let me say that I ride a bike all year around in a Midwest college town so I have alot of different base layers and experience with the cold. The quality seems good but the insulation I get for the weight and price is just not worth it. I have a pair of 30/70 wool/polyester bottoms and they do a much better job with wind resistance and insulation. These 100% wool bottoms only top my other baselayers in moisture wicking and shorter drying

Pros
  • Underwear
Cons
  • May not maintain its shape after multiple washes

Stays dry. good for me

Love it. Unlike cotton thermals you stay dry during hard work out.I got the medium weight, and was expecting them to be a bit heavier, but yes I will be buying more.

Pros
  • MERIWOOL
Cons
  • May not be suitable for individuals with sensitive skin

No front fly.: my feedback

No front fly. They always look like they are on backwards. No tag either to show front from back. Not a problem for me, but I am trim.

Pros
  • 6 ft 2 and the length covers the ankles. Material is nice and the fit is expected.
Cons
  • May wear out faster compared to other synthetic materials

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Thin material that’s not a good fit for tall skinny folks

Feels thin for 250 gsm. Too short for me barely hitting six inches above the ankle. I need cold weather wool leggings to be long enough to not leave exposed ankle skin. I’m 6’1” and super skinny, so I had to go with the small. It might fit (literally) broader people of a more average build better.

Pros
  • Great! Keeps you warm and dry!
Cons
  • May not be as lightweight as other materials

Top notch after 1 skiing season

These are the real deal. I use them for skiing and surpass the polyester-like materials. I use both and the wool just feels and works better over longer periods of time.

Pros
  • great fit and fabulous comfort. warmth regulation is amazing
Cons
  • Not ideal for wind-resistant activities

Nic and Warm on my review.

Nice, warm base layer! You can’t beat Merino wool for some uses. I had these as my camp clothes, as opposed to hiking clothes, and they kept me very warm around camp. The only problem with Merino is that it might not stand up as well as others in the washing machine (can’t see myself hand washing the set [top also]). Other than that I recommend this product.

Pros
  • It’s nice to find a article of clothing that you want to buy again, soft and very comfortable.
Cons
  • May cause chafing or irritation in certain areas

Great merino wool long john’s for my son!

I would definitely recommend these longjohns, the tops are a bit smaller than you would think and the bottoms are a bit bigger than you think so order your true size or smaller for bottoms and a size larger for tops

Pros
  • Cant find a better quality than this, and at half the price of the major brands.
Cons
  • May require frequent washing to maintain freshness

Meriwool is awesome! Excellent for multi day hiking or camping trips, these are not just long underwear or "long johns". I wear them alone, and sometimes with boxer briefs underneath. I use them for a base layer and wear shorts over them also. They keep you very warm in the cold, and are not that hot to wear when the sun does come out. The first pair I bought I wore for several days unshowered and packed them aside. A few days later, after catching a shower, they still smelled brand new so I…

Pros
  • B086BLWX9H
Cons
  • Not ideal for individuals on a tight budget

Soft warm base layer or PJ's.

My husband is going to use these for the cold nights camping at the Grand Canyon. He is diabetic and gets cold easily. Not ideal for high-intensity activities!

Pros
  • Good product!
Cons
  • Not ideal for high-intensity activities

Excellent Value: my feedback

I've had these about 3 years. They are an excellent value. Fit and quality has been excellent. I also have smartwool pants that cost quite a bit more, and I don't have a strong preference for either. I hand wash all my wool and these have held up really well. I also always wear conforming underarmour underwear under them, which means they don't need to be washed nearly as often. This will greatly increase their usable lifespan. If you're washing these after each use, you're doing it wrong. if…

Pros
  • Soft, warm and stretchy
Cons
  • May not provide enough insulation for prolonged exposure to cold temperatures

Very warm was impressed !

I really loved how comfortable these pants and shirt are ! They are very warm. I wore these in sub zero temps although I was walking the whole time they kept me warm with a wind break over top. I was comfortable not cold or too hot. The mod weight is a great starting point for cold in the lower 20s and below. I’m anxious to test the durability of this product.

Pants ripped in 2 months

The pants began to come apart on the left knee only after two months. I didn't do anything strenuous in these pants, besides my morning physical therapy and stretches. I contacted the company, since they have a one year warranty, and based on there warranty they will cover the pants, but they will not cover shipping charges. I think it's ridiculous to pay $60 plus tax for this item and then the company will not pay for the shipping to replace the defect in the product, which was not caused by…

Pros
  • good fit, just as advertised
Cons
  • Not ideal for activities that require a lot of bending or kneeling

Soft and warm.: my feedback

These are great for cold weather. I use them for backpacking, hiking, or working when it's really cold. May not provide enough support for athletic activities.

Pros
  • Warm and comfy!
Cons
  • May not provide enough support for athletic activities

Comfortable and warm

These suckers are nice and warm. They are a little thicker than my previous pair of merino wool base layer pants, and maybe a little too thick for my purposes but I like them. Comfortable and warm

Pros
  • Beat buy for working outside in the winter
Cons
  • May not be as durable as other materials
