I bought this antenna for camping and trips and the convenience of moving quickly from one car to another no need to drill holes for permanent mounting etc. It comes with a fairly powerful magnet that will easily last up to 70mph. The silicone/rubber base is nicer than the felt backing and won't rub or scratch paint as it ages. It's not a good idea to lose him. It's relatively short and the adjustment screw provides an easy way to adjust the SWR. It works well for its size and increased the range of my Midland 75-822 via the rubber duck antenna for auto deployment. I would give it 5 stars if the silicone/rubber base was permanently attached to the bottom or if it was more solid and didn't come off as easily.
