I can't even push this tough thing with my fingers. To return.

I ordered two and was so happy to receive them. Sounded great and I'm so glad I tried incorporating a button before installing them. I'll get her back unless someone can tell me how the hell to get there. I tried, my husband thought I was weak until I tried. If there's no way to adjust the tension so you actually get the grip in the slots, it's useless to me. Does anyone have any idea if this is possible? How did others deal with this? I can't even push this tough thing with my fingers.
