DO NOT BUY If cost is an issue, buy a cheap Garmin branded GPS unit. I naively bought this model when I started geocaching last spring, thinking I'd buy a cheap GPS receiver just in case I didn't enjoy the sport. This device has many disadvantages. The GPS device only updates your location about every 5 minutes. Reading the manual didn't help, I had to contact Cobra for instructions on how to turn off their moronic "low power mode". I had several days when there was no cloud in the sky, but there was no communication with the satellites. could be found. I used to get different coordinates when standing in the same spot in the driveway, sometimes more than 100 meters apart. "ARRIVAL AT THE DESTINATION!" All distances or compass bearings then disappear. I know the GPS isn't very accurate, but 100 feet?! On the packaging it is indicated within 3 meters. gps100 Cobras are pure junk. Unless it's a gift for someone you really hate, don't buy it.
