Review on HENCKELS Statement Paring Knife: Sleek 3-inch Black/Stainless Steel Blade for Precision Cutting by Jared Barit

but not good and not great

Appearance: Blades - The image on Revain is slightly different. The knives I received do not have the notches as deep as the picture on the website. Handles: The handles of the knives shown on the page are more rounded and beveled. Check out the attached photo to see what I mean. The edges that run from front to back on the sides of the top and bottom of the knife are particularly pronounced. In addition, the knife back or foot is more pronounced, thicker or stockier. The heels or butts of the knives featured on Revain are beveled and tapered. Performance: You perform well, but not well or great. My 30-35 year old gift boxed Userer knives work just as well or even better. The cutting power is medium. I would describe the flexibility of the blade as medium hardness. Good for carving but a little harder to navigate the T-bone bone. Despite my above criticism of the look of the pens on the website and what I got, I'm happy with what I have. I was just hoping for something more sophisticated. Note: The packaging that came with this item describes the knives as "dishwasher safe, hand wash recommended". DO NOT put these knives in the dishwasher. I can only speak from my personal experience, but knives with handles like these are prone to chipping, tearing, splitting, MELTING, side wear on the handle, DON'T DO THIS! Save yourself the frustration of buying new knives by spending some time cleaning them by hand. With proper care, they will last 30-35 years.
