I decided to take my mother and aunt out to an 'oldies' bar for my mom's birthday the other weekend. for my mom's birthday. She and my aunt were getting dressed up in cutesy swing dresses, so I wanted to grab one up as well for the occasion. I looked through a few that I thought were cute, but this one caught my eye like no other! I'm a red-head with pale skin, so I just knew the green would be gorgeous. I only worried that the 2XL wouldn't fit my US size 16 frame, but thankfully it fit super well! I love these style dresses because they cinch in the bust and waist, but then flare out to hide your less presentable bits.I received many compliments on this dress even though I honestly felt like it was a bit longer than I expected. Because of the length, I wasn't able to wear my tulle skirt I bought specifically for the dress unless I wore the tulle much lower than comfortable. The pics of the green are true to color, and the black floral pattern is somewhat velvet-like which added some texture that I liked. Others stated that the folded flap over the shoulder tended to fold up for them, but I did not have this experience at all (and I was dancing and moving around a lot all night).I feel this is a bit dressier than I would wear on a normal day (to each their own though), but I'll definitely be breaking it out again when the holidays come around.
