I bought this scanner in August 2019. It reports a three-year warranty. Here is August or 2020. When scanning double-sided documents with the ADF, the machine makes a loud clicking noise and often curls and jams the original. It doesn't happen all the time, but enough to be annoying. I contacted Epson support through their website and was told that what I was describing indicated an unrecoverable internal error and the unit likely needed to be replaced. I had to call their office and ask a representative to help me with a warranty replacement. After jumping through some hurdles and taking my phone to the scanner so the rep could hear the problem, I was told that he couldn't declare it as a problem and that it could be the software I'm using (Acrobat) and so on. I had to use Epson Document Capture software instead. It was as if the scanning software was driving the plastic mechanical gears in the document feeder. The three year warranty is a joke and I wasn't impressed at all with the design of this scanner compared to the Epson GT-1500 it replaced. Suffice it to say that Epson's DS-1630 replacement will not be another Epson.
