A little is enough. I have noticed a difference between simply wetting my hair with plain water and water with a small amount of vegetable glycerin. With plain water my hair breaks when I comb or braid it, but I get a lot less with glycerine water. Nearly nothing. So I can see that glycerin is really moisturizing the hair shaft. And a little goes a long way. So pour a little, say an ounce or two, into a spray bottle of water and spray onto your hair when it's dry.
