Bought my son a Specialized pedal bike after he clearly mastered his first Strider but refused to step on it! There's just no certainty. After a year of bad luck I bought him this 14" Strider and left the pedals off. The second day he asked me for pedals so I installed them that weekend, very skeptical that he would try to pedal. God I was wrong. , he took off like a rocket before I could get my camera out! The next day he got on his big 16" Specialized and he could ride it too! All he needed was a lighter bike with skinnier pedals so he could transition from a balance bike. Specialized was too heavy and intimidating. Overall he still likes this Strider more than the Specialized and loves to ride it every day. I wish I would have bought it instead of a big bike but i will keep it when it outgrows the strider is amazing i recommend these bikes to everyone my 2 year old is now happily enjoying the little strider so we are a strider family!
