Description of 🚲 Strider Sport Balance Bike - Ages 3 to 7 Years - Pedal Conversion Kit available separately

Instant Success - That's what we want kids to experience on the Strider 14x Sport. We've assembled all the necessary ingredients to give your tyke a taste of confidence, so your little racer can successfully shift from riding a balance bike to pedaling like a pro as quickly as possible. Why? Because the success your little boy or girl experiences when they ride a Strider begins building confidence they'll use for life. Pedals Not Included - The Awesome Blue 14x Sport comes as a traditional push balance bike. But once your little rider is ready you can purchase the Easy-Ride Conversion Kit from Strider to add functional pedals, taking this bike to the next level. Grows With Your Child - If your mini-me is sprouting faster than a weed amped up on fertilizer, the 14X is the bike for you. The adjustable seat and handlebars accommodate ages 3 to 7 years, or inseams ranging from 16 - 23”, so your little one always has a bike that fits. Designed For Kids - The lightweight frame with footrest weighs only 12.5 pounds (pre-pedals), making it easy for your child to handle. The footrests are perfect for learning to balance and glide until they're ready for pedals, which can be easily attached when the time comes. Made To Last Bike Kit - Kids can be hard on things. The 14x's durable steel frame is designed to last for years. The all-adventure rubber tires are compatible with standard bike pumps, making maintenance a breeze on this riding toy.

Penalized for choosing a pink bike.

As a lot of people said you pay ten bucks more for a 'pink' bike because you have to buy it separately. Seems a bit sexist not to offer a fuchsia kit, right? (And by the way, our daughter looked at all three bike colors and chose pink, which was funny since she almost always chooses blue.) And the pedals are small. The child's legs constantly slip to the side. Do you know why they can't be wider?

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Easy to install, but why isn't it included with the bike?

The pedals are easy to mount on my daughter's Strider bike. However, it sucked a bit that buying a Strider bike in a color other than blue or green meant we had to buy the pedals separately from the bike. The blue and green versions came with a set of pedals. And if you pay for the bike and pedal set separately, the amount is more than the cost of the blue or green bike that actually comes with the pedals.

  • Great design

Instant success at 3 years old

Wow this bike is amazing. My daughter only started riding the Strider 12 Sport a month ago but settled in quickly and begged for pedals. I hesitated, thinking she definitely needed more practice. So I thought it would be a good investment. If the pedals didn't work, she could have just used the frame and 14x as a balance bike first. Well, within 10 minutes she had that bike sorted out and she was pedaling around the neighborhood. It is well designed and intuitive for kids using balance bikes…

Great bike. add brakes.

We apologize for the length of this review. Great motorcycle. BUT, I'm still shocked that without a pedal kit you don't have any brakes at all. My son is not strong enough to pedal as we live in a very hilly area but he loves to travel and has great balance. So I fixed it. Started with just the rear brake but not enough for a 4 year old due to lack of grip strength. Front and rear brakes and we're in. It can stop safely and quickly. parts required. Shimano brake lines and cables. Tektro brake…

Perfect transition!

My son started riding the original Strider balance bike at age 2 and recently (now 4 years old) asked if he could have a balance bike like his older brother. I didn't feel like it was fully pedal bike ready, but did some research to see what options we had. Found this newly released Strider 14x and thought why not stick with Strider, they have proven to be knowledgeable and trustworthy. It turned out to be the perfect transition. We started pedaling straight away and it wasn't until the second…

Great balance bike but pedals are awkward to use

My now 4 year old started riding a 14 inch balance bike when he was 3 and mastered it early this summer. So about 3 months ago he asked me to ride a pedal bike and put the pedals on this bike. He couldn't ride at all. We decided it was too soon. Then about 2 months ago he took his sister's Woom 16" bike and rode into the sunset! Now he comfortably rides her bike which is still too big for him as he is only 30th percentile but he still can't pedal this bike (video taken today). The pedals are…

Ideal for switching to larger bikes.

Bought my son a Specialized pedal bike after he clearly mastered his first Strider but refused to step on it! There's just no certainty. After a year of bad luck I bought him this 14" Strider and left the pedals off. The second day he asked me for pedals so I installed them that weekend, very skeptical that he would try to pedal. God I was wrong. , he took off like a rocket before I could get my camera out! The next day he got on his big 16" Specialized and he could ride it too! All he needed…

Great bike but kids don't like it.

Excellent wheel. Easy to assemble. Very good looking. Very fast delivery. I've been looking for a gift for my 4 year old for a long time and came up with three finalists: Go Glider 2-in-1 (too many bad reviews) and Ridgeback (too expensive for a balance bike and probably too big). For her second birthday she was given her first balance bike. It was a 10" Puky from Germany. She was scared and didn't look at it for almost two years. About 6 weeks ago, in February 2018, she picked it up and got…

Fantastic wheel, mediocre pedal wheel

The wheel concept is brilliant and the Strider is the best in the business in my opinion. My son got his Strider 12 Sport at 3 and has never had to use training wheels. He was mastering his balance at 4 and outgrowing his current Strider so we bought this bike along with a set of pedals to see if we could get him to pedal instead of push. Well less than a day after arrival we had the pedals and he learned how to pedal well, mission accomplished! The problem is that after the conversion to the…
