This is still a fairly powerful lamp. I was expecting more and wanted to return it immediately when I saw the shipping box size but decided to at least try and I'm glad I did it very forcefully. Each of the 4 parts of the lightbulb has its own USB port, which was a pleasant surprise. They were all charged when they arrived but not fully so I plugged them in and after about an hour they were fully charged, the remote works great and you can even make them brighter. They are used in my son's closet (no light gets through). so I don't have to use a flashlight when selecting and putting away clothes. I tried the ones that use batteries but they didn't give enough light and used up the batteries. I love that you can just top them up (saves $$). I think I might only need 2 or maybe 3 (if I want to overdo it), so the extra will serve a different purpose someday.
