My husband works as a mailman in Phoenix, Arizona. He needs a good moisturizer for everything! He has been using this particular lip balm for many years. In fact, this is the ONLY one that will use it. He prefers the "original". It stays on for several hours before needing to be reapplied unless it has been eaten. It stays on even as long as he drinks water throughout the day. His lips stay moist and protected so they don't crack in the sun. There is no need to talk about the smell of the "original". It's just neutral, so it has no "flavor". It's nice to use.
