Review on Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 Art DC HSM Lens - Canon Compatible, Black (210101) by Tung Duong ᠌

I've owned it for a few days. I chose between Canon 17-55 2.8 and Sigma 18-35 1.8 when buying on 7D. Both of them are good, but it went to the minus for the canon - a vacuum cleaner, price, fewer aperture blades and 2.8 versus 1.8 (you still want bokeh). So far I really liked Sigma. I think now she will become a staffer instead of fifty dollars. Some pros: Sharp even at 1.8, in my opinion, the sharpness is about the same as Canona 50mm 1.4, only here the depth of field is greater, and at an open aperture there are much fewer misses than 1.4. The materials are very good. The weight is quite comfortable. Aperture 1.8 despite these focal lengths is enough for decent bokeh. Focusing speed is quite decent. In the dark, it focuses in the same way as a fifty-kopeck piece 1,4. Cons below: Small front-back focus at a distance of up to 0.5m. when testing when buying, they found it, but already at 1-1.5 m. the focus object falls into the depth of field, and at a distance of 2m. almost the entire line in the depth of field is all about the open aperture. Of course you can buy for 2 docking station and bring everything to the ideal, but that's enough for me.
