Full Disclosure. I received this article for free with the understanding that I will send feedback (good or bad) after the test. I promise this is an honest review. I have a 6 month old puppy who will inhale his food and eat everything he sees from cicadas to mushrooms to baby turtles and rocks. I'm afraid he'll eat something poisonous, so I try to keep him away from certain things. Once he fixates on something, he's so focused that it's difficult to take his mind off it. He weighs almost 50 pounds and is muscular and not easy to grab onto or pull away from an object. Using it made a big difference. With a remote collar, when he's on a leash, I can only get his attention with the vibrate function. He may not respond the first time, but after the second "vibration" and the "come" conversation, his attention to the object is interrupted and we can continue our walk. This has worked a couple of times. I think with practice he will learn to "come" without a remote collar. If not, at least it works to break his focus. I didn't try the horn or the shock feature, although I tried them both without the collar and made sure they would work if needed. I don't want to use a horn or shock if that helps because it's also limited in the yard by an invisible fence, which works well. Since he also beeps (and shocks him if he goes past the "beep" point), this can confuse him when he's out for a walk. Since it's only on for walks, I can't test how long the battery will last before needing a charge. All I can say is that it's only been charged once and hasn't had to be charged yet. When he returns to the yard, he puts his collar on, and that remote collar and remote control will turn off until the next walk outside the fenced area. We've been talking about getting another dog as a companion for our current pup as he's outgrowing his 'puppy behavior'. Thanks to the included second collar receiver, you do not have to buy a second complete device. With the included remote control, you can easily switch controls between collars by using the slide switch on the remote control. A plus is the presence of an LCD display that shows which collar is selected, the selected level of discharge and battery level.
