Review on πŸš— Enhance Your Car Safety with the BW 7 Inch TFT LCD Digital Rear View Monitor and Waterproof Camera Combo by Prince Aguirre

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It's okay, and here's why.

The monitor works well. The resolution is okay, but certainly not outstanding. There's a tiny area on one edge of the screen that looks like dead pixels glued together. I'm not sure if I did this by removing the screen protector, but I don't see how that's possible. That won't be a big problem. The knobs are cheap but functional. The mount for this device is solid enough and can be tilted up and down, but don't expect to be able to rotate the screen left to right. The remote control works perfectly. The camera works fine. Overall I think you can buy these two items separately for less than what I paid ($61). On-screen image rotation is a nice plus along with the mirroring option. 2 video inputs is also a good standard feature. This screen comes with a plastic case which I believe is used when installing in a car radio. I wouldn't give up my car stereo to have this display instead, so you might want to consider that if you're planning on gifting one. I would have preferred one of those displays built into the rearview mirror or a smaller screen that fits on the dash. Even better, I'd love to see someone build a wireless backup camera that could use the smartphone display you already have installed. So I received this as a gift and decided to use this LCD screen for another application. I use it as a display for any NTSC device that uses the composite video out connector (yellow RCA). I can install this screen in hidden places and play Xbox or watch movies while idle. :) The resolution isn't the best, but I can play video games or watch movies with no problems. First I had to do a few things to make this work. A 12V DC power supply from Etekcity and a Power Jack adapter from LEDCREELIGHT prepared the screen for powering from a standard 110V outlet. It's designed to use existing car sockets, not wall mounted, but it's great for that too! The monitor doesn't have speakers, so you'll also need to find a way to get the sound through your headphones or speakers. Fun times await you! There is also an additional video input so you can monitor the camera as well. Haha!
