These collars are well made, the clasp is very strong, they are not breakaway collars, but you need to press the button on the back of the clasp and pull both sides apart. This isn't a problem for me as my cats are not the type to climb where they get stuck and they need a collar to free themselves. Plus the last few rogue collars they had, they all lost. The reflective area is very bright and looks like it will last a long time, I've seen (and seen) it go out. that the reflective area was nothing more than reflective tape glued to the collar doesn't sound like it. Collars are excellent. I gave orange to my youngest cat. Dark brown, black and tan - he has short haired merle markings. gray shorthair. I can see them well at all, the bells aren't too big and they tingle a little, but the ringing of the bells doesn't bother me, I like hearing them, especially with my youngest, because even though he was fixed, he's still running by out the door at every opportunity, and that happens very quickly, most of the time you just see a shadow walking past you. because he likes to be outside and even though they have a closed kennel he is not content with that. I would recommend these collars to anyone who has cats or even small breed dogs, even if your cats never go outside there is always a 1% chance they will charge at you and it is very handy to see them in the dark . and at $9.99 for 3 collars I couldn't do without them, I shopped elsewhere where I'd found them before and similar ones were selling for about $4 each!
