This watch won out because of its competitively low pricing (I got it at a sale price of around $215 for this model). Huawei's watch GT2 is the closest competitor in terms of pricing, but it cannot compete with the Samsung ecosystem and does not have the same level of fluid animation. Before I go any further, I should mention that I don't use this watch as a fitness tracker but rather as an accessory and a companion watch, therefore I won't be covering any of the sports-related features. Okay, so here we go in order: Playing media files from instant messengers; seeing a specific message if there are not one, but multiple; etc. are all examples of functionality that cannot be found here. In most cases, this is not crucial, and if your goal is merely to become cognizant of a new development, this will suffice. In addition, the watch lacks note-taking capabilities while having a camera, phone, music player, voice recorder, calculator, alarm, and other useful tools built in. What gives? Since the wristwatch has a keyboard, it would be highly practical to rapidly jot down notes or dictate ideas, then have them synced with the phone. However, a voice recorder will have to suffice for the time being. The system shell may not be perfect, but the fact that it doesn't freeze, lag, or cause a drop in frame rate (FPS) while use (unlike its Chinese equivalent) is enough for me to be willing to make the trade-off. Since we made it to the battery without any hiccups, I'll say a few things about it. The battery life is about 1.5 days with regular use of the accompanying sensors. They last me more than two full days (from 100% to 20%) with my use (shut off geolocation, AOD, heart rate tracking, and auto-detection of exercises). Discussion continues below.
