I don't even take readers from other brands into account with my second Kindle. The design is laconic and flawless; the contrast is good despite the ordinary screen resolution; the scrolling is quick; and the illumination is a cool hue. Through the Amazon support chat, I disabled advertising (it took 3 minutes; you can even get pre-written wordings in English online; you only need to copy and paste them into the chat). Line spacing and font size are easily adjustable. I convert books to caliber because it is more convenient for me than to transfer books the traditional way via USB from a computer.
