We followed the installation instructions. We tested the water after pouring 3 gallons per directions. We then tested the "filtered" water with a meter that tests the purity of the water. The water that leaked from the fridge was just as contaminated as our tap water at over 700 TDS in parts per million. This far exceeds the maximum pollution level of 500 parts per million set by the US Environmental Protection Agency. We won't be using it and will have to order a better filter. We tested the distilled water to make sure the meter was working and it was only 2ppm. Do not buy this product.
