The Good and Not So

I appreciate the growth of the non-whey and non-soy protein market with plant-based protein options. On the other hand, as the market grows, manufacturers need to differentiate themselves from the competition + I like the strawberry flavor. I don't find it disgusting, but it tastes intense. > I'm used to seeing stevia leaves as a sweetener, which I really like for the taste (I know a lot of people don't like it). However, this product uses erythritol as the main sweetener, which I dislike and many may agree. Some people are more sensitive to erythritol and it causes stomach/indigestion problems or worse. It annoys me that manufacturers hide ingredients behind controversial "natural flavors" that can literally be anything. At least some manufacturers will tell you "natural lemon flavoring," meaning it's made from lemons. But without specifics, it becomes a hidden ingredient that makes me suspicious of what it really is. vegan/vegetarian diet. category) is 4.5 g. The math doesn't seem to work. I found an article by SFGate that tried to explain this type of labeling by saying that the manufacturer uses "loopholes" in ingredient lists. Seems to be a gap in the "natural flavors" used here that obscure what's really in there. Even the University of Michigan has an article listing that saturated fats and trans fats should be less than total fat. Something is wrong with the caption. GENERAL: There are enough "better" plant-based protein options that I can overlook the downsides of this product.
