When one of my older dogs started sliding up and down the stairs, he hesitantly began walking up and down them. After installation, she no longer slips like before and confidence returns to her. Most of the steps I've found cover a small portion of the stairway. I was delighted to stumble upon these 32-inch models that almost entirely hit the bottom of each tier. Preparation and application are the key to a good result. Be sure to thoroughly sweep and clean each step before even attempting to apply them. When you step back, use the roller to smoothly attach the steps to the stair. If you try to do too much at once, you'll end up with air bubbles that you can't pick. That's when I first put them on they were almost translucent. During the day the adhesive seemed to "pull back" a bit, instead becoming a bit opaque. They are still firmly attached but are not as clear as when they were originally attached. It's not uncomfortable to look at and I recommend them.
