I have an Onkyo receiver and a Kef Q-Series speaker on the front, so these Kef T101s were a welcome addition to a revamped basement/man cave. Although they are only used for surround sound, I turned off the front speakers and added some power to these T101s and they really came alive! These are very dynamic speakers and my subwoofer filled the lows with no problem. The soundstage of these speakers is certainly bigger than their size. I also have Kef E3005 egg speakers so I know what the Kef satellite speaker is capable of. To be honest, given the T101's very thin profile, I was expecting less and was very surprised by the enormous sound signature. This is the real deal and sounds amazing to say the least. The mids and highs are silky smooth and not harsh at all (I was expecting some harshness from these speakers). It's expensive, YES? Will you be glad you paid the extra money for their performance and clean looks? I think the majority will do it. If you are on a budget, be sure to buy a used e3005 system. This is an amazing system too. In addition, the T101 comes with brackets that can be wall mounted, after which the speaker snaps into place very easily. My wife didn't want egg speakers hanging from the ceiling; She wanted something slimmer and more visually appealing. wife approved!
