Review on πŸš— Omix-Ada 19715.04 Windshield Wiper Motor by John Beltran

Revainrating 5 out of 5

More throw than original parts

Replaced the original wiper motor in my 1995 Jeep YJ. The OEM block was made in Japan (quality) and lasted 250,000 miles! It might have been longer if the screws holding the case together hadn't loosened. My old engine was making a growling/grunting noise and the wipers were moving slowly. This device from Omix-ADA was a perfect match for the original, apart from the fact that it said "Made in China" on the packaging. The block appears to be well put together. Directly connected. The new block has more travel than the original. On my original unit, the wipers stopped at my window at about 1:30 am. With this new one, they wipe more of the windshield at 2:30 and sit out of my line of sight. It should be noted that the picture of the motor here on Revain is an inverted picture of what the bolted unit looks like. The picture shows the side you cannot see. So keep that in mind when looking at an installed motor. The part was exactly the same as OE. Don't worry. Omix-ADA has been engaged in manufacturing spare parts for Jeep vehicles for a long time. You have good stuff. @@Pro Tip@@Before doing this job, apply penetrating oil to the windshield hinges for a few days. Windshield hinges freeze over time and can bend easily. My windshield has never rolled down or folded properly, even with 250,000 miles and more than 200 rainy days a year here in Oregon. Aftermarket hinges are not as strong and beautiful as the original hinges, so keeping the old ones is an advantage. Also, make sure you order a hood seal to seal the windshield where it folds down to the dashboard. My old one had been blown up and water was leaking onto the floorboard.
