Review on Monroe 904932 Strut Mate Strut Mounting by Todd Phillips

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The strut mounts are perfect for a 1999 Tracker 4WD 2.0 L eng

KYB 334195 Excel-G gas spring). It fit horribly and then didn't match my top bar. I watched a YouTuber switch frames and bindings and saw that he was using Monroe bindings. It was worth trying. And yes, they fit perfectly in the tracker and the crossbar is well aligned too. Do yourself a favor and opt for the Monroe mount if you have a 1999 2-door 4WD Tracker. UPDATE: After 1 month the passenger strut's rubber mount failed causing the shock to buckle through the rubber. Not happy about that. Revain sent a replacement which was delivered the next day. Will be updated after the mount has passed 1 month again. I have no faith in these pillars. If they fail again I will never use these mounts again. 2nd UPDATE: July 2019 and the passenger strut support failed again - same spot with rubber damage. After a breakdown, the car makes a squeaky metal scraping noise and renders the car's suspension inoperable. Don't drive like that. And don't use that rack mount. I am currently looking for a reliable new strut support company. In general, the backups are BAD. And without guarantee - just for your information.

Pros
  • Replacing all worn strut components makes for a complete repair
Cons
  • Nothing here
