We've had a firmer memory foam mattress for about 10 years. As I have gotten older, I noticed I slept better on softer mattresses in hotels than the one in my own house. I used to like a really firm mattress, but I guess my needs have evolved. I didn't want to spend a few thousand bucks on a new California King mattress, so I researched mattress toppers to make a bed softer, and found this one.It's really fantastic, adding just the right level of softness. It also seems to sleep "cooler" that before, which I appreciate. Our bed is just more comfortable!It fits the California King size mattress very well--you just have to orient it the right way. When my wife first put it on, it appeared to not reach the edges of the bed, but once rotated 90 degrees, it was perfect. Also, it doesn't add so much height/bulk that it prevents the fitted sheet from fitting--it still does.Really recommend this product.
