That's a great little device! I often use canned tomatoes, but I don't want the juice to come out of them; I've used one of these funnels with a filter in the past, but the holes are too small and clog easily, and the funnel itself fills with liquid while in the bowl. It was very frustrating. The holes in it are larger and allow the liquid to pass through more easily. I've found that this doesn't work as expected with tuna because the strainer sinks into the jar and there's no room for it with tuna; BUT: I just flipped the jar over the holes in the front, flipped it over while holding the jar, and it worked just fine! I'm glad I got this, it solved one of my most annoying problems.
