So originally I wanted this speaker to be added to my Apple ecosystem (Airplay 2). I ordered it thinking the price and reviews were right so I jumped on the Black Friday deal. I received faster than expected. I unzipped the app and downloaded it to my new iPhone 12 pro (no bragging. This is important. Stay tuned). The first thing I do with new technology is all available firmware updates. App loaded, my phone can't connect Zipp Mini to my WiFi. I could see the speakers in the app, but the app crashed when it came time to connect the speaker to my wifi. On a whim I decided to dig up my old iPhone 6s and download the app there just to see if I had the same experience. BOOM.instant connection. Once connected I was able to do 2 firmware updates. Second, I updated this Zipp Mini with Airplay 2, which is exactly what I wanted! Once connected, the app will now work seamlessly with the iPhone 12 pro. It definitely needs an app update for the older Zipp Mini compared to the Zipp Mini 2, but for those wondering if they need to shell out the extra $100 to have Airplay 2 on the Zipp Mini 2 , the answer is NO. you do not know! This system works great and sounds amazing. Definitely one of the best speakers out there after so many years. THE APP CO-EXISTS, but now you have a workaround. :)
