That's a darn good move. I bought it to provide some rear protection as I've been hit twice by drivers who don't seem to understand the physics. The first time I had a bumper (on a Jeep Grand Cherokee) and was not damaged while another driver kicked the badge out of her BMW. Earlier this year, while driving my Golf R, I was hit again by a gentleman who had a penchant for crashing into other drivers. There is no bumper/footboard and the repair bill approaches $4,000. So I got this Tyger bit for my new Grand Cherokee that has a hitch receiver. The kit - a lock, a latch to prevent rocking and noise, and the clutch stage itself - are very good. Everything is very high quality including the sill/bumper protection which would most likely crush the front of the M1 Abrams tank. One caveat is that sometimes the rear parking sensors kicked in a bit and even activated my brakes at one point. I subsequently uninstalled it and reinstalled the kickstand and had no further problems (although this all happened in the last 24 hours). I sincerely hope I can use it with no further problems because it's a damn good hitch, but if you have rear parking sensors you should be aware that it can interfere with that system. Do not throw away the packaging material until you have tried it. In addition, this is an incredibly pleasant product.
