Review on GE Projects Ceiling Operated 17457 by Stephanie Love

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Helps ease early mornings

Five stars because it fits exactly as advertised and suits my needs perfectly. This is for me (8 years with decades of practice). My criteria: Inexpensive; long game; Low Profile; Soft/weak light source; No tipping and falling exposed; Easy to turn on and off; Failsafe timer for energy/battery saving; No photo sensor/auto power on; Small footprint. Before I settled on this GE 17457 Twinkle Star Tap Light LED, I was looking for a bedside lamp that would give off a little soft light in the dark early morning hours before I get up and turn on the light. As soon as I wake up every day, I train each ankle while still in bed. Spending those seven minutes in low light is far more comfortable than in complete darkness. It suits my needs perfectly, with some whimsy to download, for $5.31 and free shipping (with Revain Prime). This little indicator light is CUTE! I placed it on a low resin table by the bed (about six inches below my sleeping surface). When I press it "on", the stars spread out along the adjacent wall and bed, and the moon is projected onto the ceiling along with a beautiful scattering of stars. I have to be careful not to look directly at the illuminated dome, otherwise the blue LED light inside (which can be seen at different angles through the small holes in the dome top) can appear quite bright to the naked eye in the dark. Early morning darkness. Main dimensions: 5.5" diameter and 2" at highest point/center of domed top. It is made of very light plastic and remains light enough to get going even after installing four AA batteries (NOT INCLUDED). It has small rubberized feet (one review says it doesn't) and isn't prone to slipping or tipping over when used as directed.
