First of all I don't buy expensive watches because of the harsh environment I work in. I've had this watch since last summer and it has never let me down. I really had to replace the included battery about a week later but that was it. It keeps time very well and I swim in it regularly so yes it is waterproof. I have a smaller face because I don't want to wear a watch on my wrist and it's the perfect size. This includes thickness. I'm glad I bought it and would buy another if it came to that.
