I have no criticism of the product except one thing: the buyer should be careful. The specifications label on the back of the product states: 125V 60Hz 15A 1875W Resistive 8A 1000W Tungsten 8A 1000W Electronic Ballast 1/2 HP TV-5. My use for the timer was to run a bank of TO5HO fluorescent bulbs totaling 275W with minimal start-up surge. The TO5HO ballast mount is a common type used for growing plants. After programming the timer, I installed it. The timer worked when first turned on. There it failed after a period of one to three days. Two symptoms: 1) When the shutdown cycle occurred, the lamps did not turn off. When the timer was off and the All Off button was selected, the lights didn't turn off. The other symptom was not included. Despite multiple attempts to reprogram the time, it still failed. I asked support for help. I explained the problem and was told they would contact their technician. The engineers asked for information on the technical characteristics of the TO5HO lamp and lamp, which I provided with a direct reference to the manufacturer. After a series of emails back and forth, the engineers replied that the ballast in the fixture was the problem, explaining that it was only rated for 500-400 watts for that type of ballast. After reconnecting the lamps by equally distributing the load on each timer output, the timer still did not work. I informed the engineers about the error. Eventually I was told I would have to use a mechanical timer. I spend many hours diagnosing a problem and chose Century Time for its form and suitability for my application. I was eventually forced to replace the timer with a mechanical one, but that was basically a hack to get it working. So the labeling on the back of the timer is misleading to say the least and the product has a flaw in my opinion which can only be fixed by revising it by correcting the product specs and should have a new product part number. Therefore, the technical specifications are crucial when choosing a product, the failure of which can lead to a fire. I'm not sure if the product specification is correct. You can also find the same product under different brand names that physically look exactly the same, only the name is different. I have to say that Century's customer support has been very responsive. However, customer service management was not involved in the information sharing, which I found quite strange considering this is a common performance issue.
