This is a smart device with an impeccable design. Yes, it can be made of titanium or aluminum, but unless you're planning on throwing it in a zoo's primate cage, the plastic looks properly reinforced and strong enough for its intended purpose. My interest was in finding a compact, portrait-mode device that could be used with both small and large tablets, as we have a Kindle keyboard, PaperWhite and the original Fire, as well as a Google Nexus 7 and a pair of Nexus 10s. This stand works great and for landscape orientation, but I never use mine like that. I only take mine out of their cases to replace with others or to clean them. Horizontal levers have three latches. I used the widest latch for the Nexus 10 and the medium latch for all other smaller devices. The tightest fixation is the closed (stowed) position. I didn't count the latches on the vertical arm where it connects to the base (many), but it snaps into positions to accommodate any need imaginable. The vertical arm is split in half by a four-pin hinge, allowing you to adjust the flat top of the mount so you can lay it flush against the back of your device. I have added images for Nexus 7 and 10 and for Kindle Fire on a stand. I adjusted the mount for the larger tablet first and didn't change it for the smaller devices and it worked fine that way. ! I didn't think about it until I got my boners. I'm ordering a third tonight so I can keep it on my phone table instead of just laying it flat. Both horizontal levers have a soft, sticky black anti-slip pad running the full length of their underside. Very efficient. The same material is applied to the outer surface of the support grooves cut into the upper part of the levers. Once again very efficient. The same material is applied to the flat hinge surface of the top half of the vertical arm. I've used all the devices on the stand, vigorously swiping horizontally and vertically, and the devices have always stayed firmly on the stand and not shifted. on the counter surface. I bought two of these, one for my wife. Five stars because I can't find anything to complain about.
