Excellent Tins - for off label use (wet pack brass)

Firstly these are really high quality paint tins, especially at this price point. I've read some reviews where people have had difficulties because the lids were either too loose, too tight, or the material was too brittle. Luckily I didn't have any of these issues with the three cans I received. When I bought these tins I wasn't looking for something to store paint or other liquids in. Instead, I looked for replacement drums that come with the Chicago Electric Rockglas, which I use to wet my brass drum after removing the caps and resizing. The reason I wanted to replace the originals is because the rubber that makes up the originals often leaves a thin black deposit on the brass. So these hard plastic lenses seemed like a good replacement. And with a few small tweaks, they're perfect! (See photo) - First you need to remove the two protruding plastic rings around the bottom of the jar. I used a razor blade and it worked great. You will then need two additional Chicago Electric rubber drive belts. Slide each band onto the drum, keeping them relatively straight and parallel to each other (about 2 inches apart) at the center of the drum. Check the drum on the toggle switch - it should work fine. I stuffed about 120 pieces of brass + 1lb stainless steel pins, water and cleaner for a total of four hours. No leaks and last but not least, no stains on my brass!
