I originally bought these because I thought it would be a good idea to hang all my boys clothes in the closet to eliminate the need for a dresser. Do not do that. The problem was that there weren't enough trouser hangers, so I figured this would be perfect. This way I could create little outfits to hang so everything fits together because every mother knows that little boys don't know how to put their clothes together. These clips are perfect for hanging pants or shorts on a standard hanger. The problem is that they are bulky. I bought some hangers to save space thinking this would solve my problem. No way, it got worse. I've found that space saving works better with plastic hangers on clothes. I use clips to hang small blankets on hangers, as clips for chips because we never have enough, for making and sewing costumes, and anything that needs a clip. I've even used them as bobby pins in a pinch. I plan to use them on a clothesline if my husband is ever going to hang one up.
