Suitable for regular repairs

It is what it is, you get what you pay for blah blah blah. It's worth the money (but only that) - although it arrived quickly. The seller was conscientious, although the goods are not needed. I jumped on the deal even though I needed a tool that I would use often. This works in a pinch, but is impractical for frequent use, especially since I sew leather and canvas. Yes it is brass (not copper as described). The rough texture tells me it was stretched under pressure (like a plate) and not upside down. (Probably the only option at this price point.) A few rolls of sandpaper and it might be good. Although the handle is unscrewed, it is attached and will not hold needles (can it be shortened?). Just note that you still need to keep the needles separate when shipping. And these are fairly large general purpose needles, neither sharp nor cutting. So just get your stone out; I have other needles to use with this. It's small but heavy for its size; If you embroider regularly or for a long time, get a lighter English-style hocker. It *comes with a snatch pin so I gave it one star.

Pros
  • Made from high quality copper and steel
Cons
  • Unreliable
