Not quite polished: Stitching

The processing of the handle is extremely hasty. I had to pry open the nut a bit with a screwdriver to get the spikes in. In addition, the processing of the handle is not yet complete. A bit rough in the hand, even annoying. I solved it by taking some sandpaper to smooth it out a bit, but it's clear they are in a hurry with a lathe for these things. For those moments, he earned a 3-star rating. In the interest of information, I didn't realize that all of these pointy needles are. I was looking…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Unfashionable

Good basic tool, but takes some getting used to.

It took me a while to figure out how it works. All Ahle videos have a built-in thread spool. However, if you search "jerking needle awl" on YouTube, the first video describes very well how to use this needle. After watching the video I tested it on a piece of nylon fabric and found the stitch to be very strong even for those with no sewing experience. I used it to fix the edges of the canvas on my pop up trailer. Over the years, the tarpaulin has torn at the attachment points on the corners of…

Sturdy, useful but the handle is small for me.

Small for my hands so it's a bit uncomfortable to use and the edges are rough. If you use it for a long time it is highly recommended to use a glove that lasts, or a friend suggested wrapping some velcro which I didn't as I use a leather fingerless glove which gives me the ability to work with this tool to work. When you're done using it, remove it. I suspect it has to do with the ribbed edges on the end which help it stay in place during use which is great but it is very difficult to replace…

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Weak set

The description is misleading, it's not exactly copper.

What I should expect from a product description offered online is enough information, both text and images, so that you know exactly what you are getting. What a seller needs to do is properly meet the buyer's expectations. For the seller, this means they get better reviews because the buyer knows exactly what they're getting. This is an example of what not to do. First, the item doesn't look like copper, or if it does, it's very low quality copper. Brass would be a much more accurate…

Not as expected - Tailor's Awl

Awl. The body is tiny. It's hard to resist poking through thicker skin. One of the needles is not the same as in the photo. It's just a needle (eye versus point) so it can't be used with an awl. This is a really heavy sewing needle, but not an awl. The other two, including the curved needle, are only for pulling (eye open) and can only be used to pull the thread back through the fabric. It is useful but not what is shown in the picture. It would make a great camping repair kit due to its small…

Pros
  • Includes tapered copper shaft, straight needle, curved needle and 9m nylon line
Cons
  • Not as thick as other pliers

Suitable for regular repairs

It is what it is, you get what you pay for blah blah blah. It's worth the money (but only that) - although it arrived quickly. The seller was conscientious, although the goods are not needed. I jumped on the deal even though I needed a tool that I would use often. This works in a pinch, but is impractical for frequent use, especially since I sew leather and canvas. Yes it is brass (not copper as described). The rough texture tells me it was stretched under pressure (like a plate) and not upside

Pros
  • Made from high quality copper and steel
Cons
  • Unreliable
